Prototype — internal review. This comp positions PEAK as the beginning of a long HW career — more color, same design system as the homepage & careers page. Photography is placeholder (FPO); some names, quotes & figures are placeholders for real content.

More than an internship

Where a Hawkins-Weir career begins.

At PEAK, you’re not here to shadow from the sidelines. You’ll work on real projects, learn from practicing engineers, and build relationships with people who want to see you grow. Many of our full-time engineers — including some of the partners who own the firm — started right here.

It’s real work. Real people. And a chance to see where a career at Hawkins-Weir can take you.

Who we’re looking for

Bring curiosity. Bring initiative. Bring your perspective.

You don’t have to know exactly where your career is headed. We’re looking for students who are ready to learn, contribute, ask questions, and work alongside people who care about doing things well.

  • Pursuing a B.S. in Civil, Biological, Environmental, Structural, or Electrical Engineering — or Construction Management
  • A collaborative spirit and pride of ownership in your work
  • Drive to put your talent toward work that shapes our communities
  • A high bar for professionalism with coworkers and clients alike
  • Junior or senior standing preferred
  • Work authorization without the need for visa sponsorship
What we’re really looking for.

The interns who thrive here bring curiosity, a collaborative spirit, and pride in their work. The rest — the technical skills, the industry knowledge, the professional toolkit — that’s what we’re here to help you build.

Real words from real interns

Don’t take our word for it.

Shadowing multiple areas of engineering helped me hone in on what kind of civil engineering I want to pursue. I came in thinking I knew — and left knowing for sure.
MarleyMarley — Civil Eng. Intern
It amazed me how much people skills mattered — seeing engineers, clients, and contractors constantly communicating was eye-opening. You can’t learn that in a classroom.
HHayden — Electrical Eng. Intern
Now at HW full-time
Working on real electrical systems — not textbook problems — showed me how much more there is to learn. Every day on site taught me something no lecture could.
